Robert Frost once said, “Poetry is the first thing lost in translation.” To try to put poetry in a box is impossible. Poetry is a way for one to freely express their emotions and show one’s traditions in their culture’s language. Language is a form of art to communicate with others but poetry goes beyond that and conveys emotions with the written text. Poetry’s aesthetic approach to language breaks free of any bounds that traditional language would otherwise impose. Poetry is stemmed from languages of every culture and creed and predates recorded history through oral traditions. Dig deep in your own roots and find within yourself the emotions that want to come out and put it into tangible text to form your beautiful thoughts into poetry.
One is only bound by his or her own convictions. Once their will is to go beyond that which is their bare existence they are limited no more. Poetry is an artistic tool to do just that. Through poetry one can go beyond the boundaries in one’s thoughts and can clearly see the magic of life through poetry. What better gift to share to the world is works of poetry that will help others release themselves from whatever bounds them and hopefully the roots of poetry will dig deeper and deeper into society and artistic poetic side of our bare nature will be revealed in all of us.
