Category:  Sad  Title: “Gallows”

To the gallows

I must walk

To hang there

For all to mock

You people are greedy

I committed no crime

You need a life

So you’ll take mine

I have three days

To confess my sins

None I have

So you throw me in

In with the rats

In with the mice

Choking on bread

And old stale rice

For three days

I sit, I freeze

Close my eyes

And try my pleas

Each morning I rise

To your accusations

And try with my might

To push limitations

Tonight is my last

So with the sunrise

I walk to the gallows

You have your prize

There’s nothing left

That I can say

With the drumbeat

You’ll have your way

The morning has come

The gallows await

My body is yours

You sealed my fate

I walk with pride

I’m ready to die

I’m sick of lying

I will not cry

Up on the stool

Noose ’round my neck

The drums grow louder

He caresses my neck

Whispers such a pity

I lie to his face

The drums still louder

And stronger their pace

The time has come

Out goes the stool

I fall with a jerk

The world is so cruel

There I hang

For all to see

This world is blinded

By hypocracy

Category: Life: “Standing There”

Why are you standing there?

With no words to say,

Talk as if the cruel world gave you your sadness,

Sing to me as if the gleaming light, just awoke your

lips,

Inguire what it is that, I need to express,

Linger a little longer, while staring down along

jagged road,

But all the while I be here awaiting the explanation,

As to why,

This unusual sight, is to fade within our minds,

But never into our physical feathers that have been longing to reach,

Family Poems

Read Family Poetry

What does your Family mean to you?
When you think of your family, what emotions do you feel? We all feel different emotions, whether it is love, affection, sorrow, resentment, anger, tension, grief, appreciation, or just confusion. One thing we all have in common is that the word family will cause us to feel some emotion, and emotions are the life blood of poetry.

Our family is an integral part of who we are today.
Our mother, father, sisters, brothers, grandmothers, grandfathers; they were all a part of shaping our lives. Our beliefs, our attitudes, our prejudices, our religious viewpoint; can usually be traced to our childhood days when we were impressionable and open-minded. Ready to accept whatever beliefs our fathers and mothers impressed upon us.

‘My Little Angel’

My little angel

I cradled you in my arms and rocked you to sleep

Goodnight my little angel for awhile you will be mine

to keep

Someday you will be gown and want to be on your own

So my job in teaching you is far from being done

I want to instill in you values that will mold your heart as gold

Pure as heavenly angels and guided from above

Let your motivation be that of kindness shown in turn

This is the basis of all in which you must first learn

I yearn to be a good teacher, an example of this deed

Wisdom granted by seeking knowledge is the answer key

So my little angel take your hand in mine we’ll both

take small footsteps towards the betterment of mankind

Family Quotes

“There’s one sad truth in life I’ve found, While journeying east and west
The only folks we really wound, Are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know, We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow, To those who love us best.”
~Ella Wheeler Wilcox

“The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family”
~Thomas Jefferson

“A father may turn his back on his child, brothers and sisters may become inveterate enemies, husbands may desert their wives, wives their husbands.  But a mother’s love endures through all”

~Washington Irving

Here are some examples:

In times of despair you safely guided us into the light.
Our strength came from you, our wisdom came from you, our honor came from you.
Dear angel the memories that you left will surely be treasured.
We wait for the moment when the good Lord will reunite us,
until then watch over us from the heavens above.
*I wrote this for my uncle who died in Germany he served for the US ARMY.

You are more than a mother,
You are more than just another,

You are my best friend.
From day one, you’ve been by my side,

And you’ve always told me to never hide.
You said you’d always be there,

and you’d always care.
You told me you’d love me forever,

And not a day goes by where I don’t hear those 3 little words,
I Love You.

And I want you to know that this much is true,
Even though I’m not a little kid anymore

I love you.
