Roses
July 2, 2008
Her roses
A dozen she would adore
I tremble as I think
To visit her once more
My attire is ragged
But she cares not
For she is lonesome
In her eternal spot
I approach, so
Calm and still
Walk up slowly
To my knees I kneel
I touch her granite face
Through time, has stayed the same
I press my hand against her
And run my fingers over her name
And lay down
Her roses

Lonesome
June 30, 2008
Comradery is what he needs.
To his peers all he feels like is Mr. Deeds.
His generosity abused.
Jealousy is most prevalent and often used.
Detached it seems.
Everyone he meets he shines and gleems.
No one can understand his dreams.
Theirs no I team.
He trys not to care.
All he wants is a pair.
Being on his own he doesn’t know how he’ll fair
He needs to step up and take the dare.
He realizes change is his friend.
With this he has conradery he’ll be better off in the end.

Rainy Day
June 30, 2008
The sky grows dark,
and the wind begins to blow.
Tall trees bend over,
as if touching there toes.
Streaks of lightning dart
across a pitch black sky.
It looks to me as if lightning can fly!
As lightning flashes,
a picture God is taking.
For all moments in time
are of his making.
A ‘CLAP!’ of thunder
frightens anyone around.
It is so freaking loud
that bone rattling sound.
It all starts with a single raindrop,
as the clouds let loose their fury.
Here comes the down pour,
I must run home in a hurry!
The rain comes down like a wild stampede
there’s no one on earth
that can stop it indeed.
The puddles form streams,
and the streams form rivers.
When it rains in the Winter,
it gives me the shivers.
When it rains in the Winter,
it gives me the shivers.
As fast as it came
it is gone agian.
The sun comes out,
and the cycle begins.
I love it when it rains
for it gives life to the flowers.
I could watch it all day
or jsut a few hours!

Balance
June 17, 2008
There’s balance in life
Between evil and good
You feel so much pain
And so misunderstood
But your time will come
Where good will fight back
If you don’t believe
Then it is faith that you lack
You need to have faith
And you need to dream
It’s ok to cry
And it’s ok to scream
You need to look
For the signs that are shown
They will show you the way
To a future unknown
Listen to your heart
Follow it proud
Sometimes it’s quiet
Sometimes it’s loud
Be open minded
Your destiny awaits
See where life takes you
See what it creates
Just remember this balance
When life gets you down
And believe something’s coming
To change it around
There’s balance in life
Between evil and good
Everything will work out
Just the way that it should.

Daughters Grown and Gone Before You Know
June 16, 2008
Grown young women now in life’s spree.
Seems like it was only yesterday, bouncing them on
my knee.
What a joy it has been watching them grow.
Being so very proud of them and letting it show.
From helping the ride their frist bike to rteaching
them how to swing a bat.
Them teaching me new math and how to kick a
soccer ball, how about that!
So proud we were, takin gthe older on off to college,
helping Her move into Her new world.
Then it was time to go, say good luck, and our good byes.
But as I said, Do your best and I love you, I saw the
tears in Her eyes.
She may be grown, but I’m leaving My little girl! is all
I could realize.
Now, looking at Her sister and knowing She’s not far behind.
Wishing I had a way. To turn back the time!

What Does Poetry Mean to You?
May 5, 2008
What I like about poetry is that it is all free form and left up to the individual to make the words into art as how they wish it to materialize from within their mind. Likewise the image and the philosophy of what poetry means. Everyone has their own vision of what poetry means to them, making poetry so unique to language and a wonderful and powerful tool. Interpretation is left to the reader and the author and make the poetry their own in heart and mind.
In the following this is what poetry generally means to me!
- The expression of the heart, human experience, feelings and thoughts.
- Expressing facts in appropriate words.
- A description of life written with imagination and emotion.
- The most popular genre of literature.
- The foundation to civilization, constitution and different arts and crafts.
- The concoction of all knowledge and craft.
- An element of surprise to us.
- An art through which a poet can excite the emotions and feelings of others.
- Expressing an ordinary event in an effective, heart-stealing style of writing that creates a sharp reaction in the hear and mind of the reader.
Poetry serves as an universal language spoken by all because even with the language barier the manner of expression, the nature, of poetic expression remains common indicating that poetry is more of a human phenomenon rather than syntactical expression. With it, poetry carries an element of subtlety and spontaneity.
So what does poetry mean to you?

GHETTO UPRISING-LACHVA, POLAND
September 3, 1942
Evelyn Roman – Holocaust Survivor
The last September morning
Without a miracle from above
From his invisible being
Or from the world below
Abandoned, we were doomed
Our ghetto was to be consumed. The sun rose bloodred that morning
Ever faithful to its course
Shamefully it went on shining
While death was waiting at our doors
That day of judgement
Our fateful moment.
Jews an uprising staging
Germans caught by surprise
Ghetto house blazing
Eight Nazis killed
Barbed wire stormed
Few of us survived.
All visions were ending
Gone was all hope
Cruelty was raging
In unimaginable scope
Good bye childhood dreams
And times yet to be.
The chaos this morning
The murder of my kin
When torment meant living
Days cruel beyond words
With no time for grieving
While roaming the woods
I often was heartened
By the love they imparted
Their piercing screams resounding
Recurring in my brain
Time can never heal
The gnawing pain that I feel .
We Pause as we read the stories of others in Rememberance of Their trials in Life!
As we pause sometime through our busy day of work and play let us remember “Never Again!” shall such attrocities be allowed in this world again. We look forward towards the future of humanity and see some have already forgotten what the past has taught us. We look at the attrocities happening daily in places like Darfur and in the Middle East; lets pause in the day and remember those lost in the past both in the Holocaust and prior and those lost and suffer daily precently. Let us also ponder and count our blessings here as free people regardless of creed and political stance; we are free people and must give back to the world what we can. Through poetry the pains and suffering people have delt with in their lives can be healed and their stories can be shared with others and hopefully teach the readers life’s lessons for us to take with us to grow and strengthen others.

Teen Poems

Read poems written by teens for teens!
Teen Poems
Teen poetry serves as an opportunity for teens to flourish and mature, blossoming to adulthood. Teens struggle with many of life’s lessons and find themselves on top. Society deems teens with many more responsibilities than before. As shown in teen poetry many find writing as a tool to gather their thoughts and mixed emotions into great proverbs for not only themselves but many times forgotten wisdom for us in life’s saga. The dramas that teens face are shown in teen poetry with every aspect of life’s flight, giving way to their ultimate formulation of who they will become as adults. They will take what they have learned to become stronger in future tests, making teen poetry a great method of understanding them and ourselves. Whether it is love, joy, or despair, many find their haven in writing teen poetry. In gathering their scattered thoughts and emotions, filtered through a pen and paper they see what great feats they have accomplished in their prime years of teen hood to take with them the lessons of life for the future.

Poems between Boyfriends and Girlfriends
Poems about saying I Love You, first love, cheating, breaking up, hurt and ex boyfriends
Our interaction with other people is inevitable and everyone can identify with a need for someone’s companionship. Loneliness is not amiable to us. Having intimate relationships help us grow and learn more about others and ourselves. Boyfriends and Girlfriend’s many times help us find out more about their feelings towards us that we may have been otherwise unsure of. Boyfriend and Girlfriend poetry can show how their relationship disentangle and express confused emotions in a way that they merge beautifully to tell of their love story.

Poetry News and Thoughts!

Community… Poetry!
Does your local community have a poetry circle? One great way to interact with others and learn so much at the same time is finding out about local poetry circles in your community. People gather together periodically and make small talk and expand their horizons in the world of poetry! Generally it is the same concept as a book club; you have probably seen them gathered around a table at Star Bucks drinking their fraps or cappachinos buzzing away with thoughts of their last reading they did. Poetry circles offer the same and can also be more free lance too, making it sometimes speratic and more fun!
I suggest looking into poetry circles in your community by taking a look at local college campuses, bulletin boards in libraries and often book stores and coffee shops, and also take a look in your local art district and city paper for postings. Local Poetry circles help build the greater world of literature and artistic forms of writing and you meet cool people along the way. So try it and see what you think; I truly recommend these circles to better your writting skills and good old fun with like minded people that share the same interest and passion for poetry!
Don’t have a local network for poetry lovers? Create one! Post a time and place for people to meet in a local cafe, book store, library, art venue, or many other great locations to gather to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or some munchies and share each other’s thoughts on poetry. Have fun with it and let it lead you where it wants to go from there. Others will have input and add some great ideas to make it flurish and again helps build your local community and become better aquainted with your locals and expand the love of poetry.

“Doves Love”
Ouite precious to behold,
Enchantement overwhelming.
The Cry of the Dove,
Is quite melodious.
The bonds-
We hold so dear.
As one reaches-
For their soulmate.
The message of Love,
As brought by a Dove.
