Community… Poetry! Expand the love of poetry into your community!

Does your local community have a poetry circle?  One great way to interact with others and learn so much at the same time is finding out about local poetry circles in your community.  People gather together periodically and make small talk and expand their horizons in the world of poetry!  Generally it is the same concept as a book club; you have probably seen them gathered around a table at Star Bucks drinking their fraps or cappachinos buzzing away with thoughts of their last reading they did.  Poetry circles offer the same and can also be more free lance too, making it sometimes speratic and more fun!

I suggest looking into poetry circles in your community by taking a look at local college campuses, bulletin boards in libraries and often book stores and coffee shops, and also take a look in your local art district and city paper for postings.  Local Poetry circles help build the greater world of literature and artistic forms of writing and you meet cool people along the way.  So try it and see what you think; I truly recommend these circles to better your writting skills and good old fun with like minded people that share the same interest and passion for poetry!

Don’t have a local network for poetry lovers?  Create one!  Post a time and place for people to meet in a local cafe, book store, library, art venue, or many other great locations to gather to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or some munchies and share each other’s thoughts on poetry.  Have fun with it and let it lead you where it wants to go from there.  Others will have input and add some great ideas to make it flurish and again helps build your local community and become better aquainted with your locals and expand the love of poetry.
